Buddha Air, the largest domestic carrier of Nepal, will be adding one additional flight from Kathmandu to Janakpur starting March 2017. Currently, the airline conducts one daily flight with an ATR42 aircraft. Starting March, it will conduct two daily flights in the KTM-JKR sector. In addition, the airline will also be issuing tickets at low rates of Rs 2,000 for one way.
Buddha Air used to conduct two daily flights to Janakpur in the peak season between September and November. The first flight at the time used to be operated with an ATR42 and second with a Beech 1900. The new flights will be operated with an ATR42, and will be upgraded to ATR72 after necessary upgrades at Janakpur airport are completed.
Buddha Air is adding two ATR72 aircrafts in its fleet in 2017.
