Engine Failure Forces a Yeti Airlines Plane to Make An Emergency Landing

A Yeti Airlines plane made an emergency landing in Geta Airport in Dhangadhi today after it lost power on its left engine after take off. The Jetstream J41 was operating the flight YT426 to Kathmandu.

All 12 souls including the passengers and crew members aboard the aircraft 9N-AHW are safe. The incident happened at around 10:45 in the morning when the pilots noted an issue in the engine #1 soon after takeoff. Initial reports had suggested that there was an issue in the left wing.

According to a Yeti Airlines personnel on the airport, the plane landed safely within five minutes of the takeoff. A team of engineers was sent from Kathmandu to look up on the issue with the engine. Just four days ago, another Yeti Airlines plane made an emergency landing in Biratnagar after a bird hit one of its engine during takeoff.
