Himalaya Airlines, Nepal’s newest airline company took delivery of its first Airbus A320 aircraft today at Kathmandu. The aircraft took off from Chengdu, China and landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 2:25 PM today. Registered 9N-ALM in Nepal, the aircraft is leased from ICBC China.
Himalaya Airlines is a Nepal-China joint venture company founded in 2014. Nepal’s Himalayan Infrastructure Fund Limited and Yeti World Investment hold a 49% stake while China’s Tibet Airlines holds a 51% in the company. The airline aims to connect Delhi and Doha with Kathmandu as early as April 2016.
