Nepal Airlines Airbus A320 is Almost Ready!

On July 1, 2013, Nepal Airlines ordered two Airbus A320-200 aircraft from Airbus. The ordered aircraft models are fitted with sharklets (elongated winglets) that helps save fuel. With this order, Nepal became a new Airbus customer. Earlier, Nepal only had two Boeing 757 models.

As expected, the deliveries of these orders are set to roll out the first half of 2015. Airbus announced in November 2014 that one of the two models was into their final manufacturing and assembly plant, and that the test flights would commence soon. If everything goes okay, Airbus will deliver the first A320 by February ’15.

New Livery

Both of these airplanes will have the new Nepal Airlines livery, as we can see in the picture below.

Update (February 8, 2015): The first Airbus A320 was ferried to Kathmandu today. It landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu this evening.
